Hi everybody,
25/09/2007 is Mid-Autumn Festival- an important festival for Chinese.
I can tell you a little bit about the story behind the festival. Once upon a time, there was hero named as Hau Ngai and he had shot down eight suns on the sky. ( In the story, there were 9 suns on the sky and made the life of Chinese became terrible.)
Hau Ngai loved fighting and his wife-Sheung Or, tried to persuaded her husband for the peace. However, he never listened to her, so she ate some magical pills and flew to moon and left her husband. This day we called Mid-Autumn Festival.
Actually, the story is a long one, but may be next time, I can give you more.
This festival has a significant meaning to me, since the final time I saw my grandmother was at this festival when I was 9 years old. My grandmother suffered liver cancer at that year and my family went to the hospital and celebrated the festival with her. Besides it was near my lunar birthday and my grandmother wanted to see me. I never forget the scence and the lighting at that night.
After over 20 years, I still feel sorrow for losing her. I am deeply sorry that I cannot serve her when I have the ability to do so, I understand my mother gets the same feeling. I know if my grandmother can see I am having my own family and she will be very happy. No matter where you are, grandma, I just want to tell you, your daughter-my mother is fine, and all of your grand children are happy and healthy. Happy Mid Autumn Festival.
I am sorry that I have no time for introducing any dishes this time, since I am really tired because I need to work today but it is a public holiday in HK.
Anyway, wish you all can have a wonderful mid autumn festival, come on look at the full moon. It is beautiful.

Congratulation
Today is the wedding day of one of my best friends- Mr. Alfred De Aquino.
I would like to take this opportunity to say "Wishing you having a happy and sweet marriage".
Alfred is an interesting person and our friendship was built under a strange way. We had worked in the same company but under different departments but the company arranged a training to different staffs from the company, so we met.
Since he was late, I can only read his name instead of his person and I was wondering if he was an Italian. However, when he arrived, he shares the same color of skin as I am. The story did not ended in this way, I found that we had common interest -TV game and we were crazy about a game named as "Spike Out", since it was very difficult to play so we joined together as a team for the game for nearly every lunch at that time. It was crazy but really funny.
I lost my job in this company after my team was dissolved, and I fell into the darkest 49 days of my life. (*49 days in Chinese has special meaning, maybe I can explain it later). I was having a temporary job and I went to have lunch or having a talk with him when I was feeling so down.
He persuaded me for not giving up, actually I was losing all the confidence at that time. With his encouragement and a little bit luck, I ended this "dark age" by finding a new job. I cannot imagine if without his help, what the hell I will be looked like. But since that time, he is my brotherhood.
Now he is having his own family and entering another life stage, I feel so glad that I will be the helper for his wedding banquet for the coming Saturday night.
Actually, there are too many stories between us, but I feel really sleepy so I need to stop right here.
Oh Alfred, you are having your family, you or your wife need to cook. Let me introduce you a very simple, low-fat and tasty dish.
Stream DaoFu:
stream the DaoFu for 10 mins (2 to 3 bricks of Daofu)
cut the green onion (maybe 2 branches)
heat 5 tea spoon of oil on your pan
after the Daofu was being streamed, place the raw green onion on the surface and then put the hot oil over them (be careful, it is really hot)
put some oyster sauce or soya bean sauce whatever you like.
hope you will like this.

exhausted
Actually, I want to write about the most recent action movie of Donnie Yen, however, I am too tired to do so. Maybe next time.
I am really exhausted today, I am not meaning physically exhausted but mentally.
I am busy for the UAT for the new system, however, it is really a boring job and making your mind empty or too much space for thinking.
I have been worked for 10 years after the graduation from the university. I think it is normal for anyone to think about having your own business. However, in Hong Kong, it is too risky.
Since the market in HK is pretty small, and the acceptability of new things for Hongkee (hongkong people) is low, although on the surface, they love new things. Actually, they love "tokyo's old things".
This is not only the market problem, but also if I can take the risk or I can afford the lost. At this moment, I don't think so. Besides, I cannot deteremine what type of business that I should involved. I like cooking and pretty good at it, and I think this will be great for letting people to have a meal with heart. (over 55% of restaurants are not giving their hearts on their production in HK, I personally think Macau 's food is much better)
As a Hongkee, I should not say it in this way, but this is the truth. I really hope that the owners of the restaurants can put their attention back to their food instead of only the profit. You know, a money heart never generates profit and satisfaction.
I am sorry, I am running too far away. Running my own restaurant is too costly since the rent in hk is too high.
Wait a minute, I have to clarify the reason why I want to have my own business. Maybe I am too tired for following the rules and regulations, or I want to "produce" something.
Yeah! I want to produce something, something realistic and people can enjoy it. In Chinese, we have a golden phrases: If you are rich that you are strong. Yeah, so before getting strong, I have to accumulate adequate "muscle". For adequate muscle, I have to perform great in my current position. Ok, I am much better, since the financial problem is your best friend since it is honest.
Oh, by this opportunity, let me introduce a simple Chinese dish to all of you:
FouYu eggplants (FuYu means the milk of DouFu- the white brick which made by soya bean), you can buy it in China Town, you can say it as Chinese cheese)
-buy 2 eggplants and cut them into the shape as a chocolate bar (around 6cm lenght is best for eating)
-stream them for around 10 minutes and let them 100% cool down
-sauce: use 4 to 5 FouYu and mix them with 1 tea spoon of sugar and 2 tea spoon of sesame oil
-put the sauce on the cooled eggplant, it is a wonderful salad or appetizer.
Hope you can enjoy it.
Take care.
